some of the most renowned producers in the history of house are represented in this double pack, including kenny dope, louie vega, todd terry, kerri chandler, mood ii swing, wayne gardiner and joe t. vannelli.

some things just get better with age. house grooves vol. 1 mark a part in history, where a young move d felt ignited by the classic house music sounds of the day. strict rhythms and nu grooves forged masterful networks with bleeps and clonks, pianos helped synthesizing dopamine and the phuture was wide open. house grooves vol.1 embodies that special time and place with a bunch of vintage tracks saved from the abyss. respectfully edited and dusted with gloves, it features move ds sought-after magic moment i gave my love, a collaboration with mannheims house hero see-base, the bass line swing of babyphonk and a breakbeat-led remix by shan & gerd janson that tries to sound like it could have happened back them. the bottom line is: the past can make the future feel at home.

based out of san francisco, extra classic is a unique live band formed with a keen appreciation of vintage reggae & vintage sounds. the aesthetic, and certainly the skilled method of their production, is an ode to the art of that classic style as referenced to the term coined by the cool ruler himself. recording in their own studio, nopal recording, the band employs a taster�s choice of analog equipment and is devotedly tracked, spliced and mixed in-house direct to tape. however, as the group�s name itself implies, there is a dose of something extra and new in this swirling mixture of space echo, heavy phase, and emotive, psychedelic california-soul.
built upon the rock of an early-era dancehall swing, their first single in conjunction with brooklyn-based imprint names you can trust entitled in this life, is a perfect slice of lover�s rock gone sideways, a decidedly left-coast piece of roots and bliss driven by adrianne delanda�s lovely lead vocals and the steady, dusty echoes of the locked in players. presented in the traditional format with a version as per nyct fashion, the dub mix incorporates a soothing dose of synare beams and underwater instrumental dreams.

heralding from brighton, married (production) couple sam and tracy presented classic with some music classic was very familiar with. not only is sam a member of the legendary gramme, but has also featured on a number of past luke solomon originals for classic�so are already part of the extended family. classic immediately warmed to the music and the music already felt at home. looking for the right remixer begun - classic played the tracks to long-time member of crazy p - a certain mr basejam and immediately leapt to them and remixed not one � but both of the records on the ep as he loved them both so much. the result is a meeting of minds sounds and words.

in the beginning of 1991 marius kuilenberg and maarten van der vleuten teamed up together and recorded two eeps for djax, *magic moments* and *...gives you central house*. marius being a dj with a great feeling for production and with a large collection of samples and maarten being a musician/technician with an own studio, turned out to be a good combination. after the two releases mentioned above, marius and maarten split up. marius focused on dj-ing only and maarten continued working as major malfunction on his own.
